An incision is then made horizontally along the lower abdomen–the size and shape of the incision may vary depending on the amount of skin being removed. Once the incision is made, the skin is lifted, revealing the abdominal muscles below and stretched out or loosened abdominal muscles are then repaired. Finally, the skin is re-draped and the excess skin removed, while the remaining skin is sutured close creating a smoother, more toned mid-section appearance.
